Terms of Use
Last updated: April 26, 2026
Welcome to Fluvaro. By accessing or using our application, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
1. Service Description
Fluvaro is a progressive web application (PWA) that aggregates and presents fishing data for Quebec, including:
- Real-time river flow and water level
- Flow forecasts and hydrological vigilance thresholds
- Tide predictions
- Sun and moon data (sunrise, sunset, lunar phases, wildlife activity periods)
- Daily river access (fishing permits sold)
- Information on river management organizations
2. Data Accuracy and Sources
Some data comes from third-party public sources, used in accordance with their respective licences:
- Government of Quebec — Centre d'expertise hydrique (CEHQ): river flow, water level, 72-hour forecasts, climatology, daily averages, backwater corrections. Data under Creative Commons BY 4.0 licence.
- Environment and Climate Change Canada — MSC GeoMet: discharge and water level for federal hydrometric stations outside Quebec (all provinces and territories). Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada.
- Données Québec: inventory of public hydrometric stations. Data under Creative Commons BY 4.0 licence.
- Ministère de la Sécurité publique du Québec: hydrological vigilance thresholds and bulletins. Data under Creative Commons BY 4.0 licence.
- Manisoft: daily access data to managed rivers.
- River managers and Fédération québécoise pour le saumon atlantique (FQSA): information on management organizations (contact details, seasons, draws, rates — see below).
Information about river management organizations (contact details, seasons, welcome station hours, contingented draw links, rates, deadlines, results) is compiled manually by Fluvaro from public sources (manager websites, Fédération québécoise pour le saumon atlantique, etc.). This information:
- may be incomplete or inaccurate
- may become outdated without notice (changes to websites, schedules, draw windows, rates, operators, etc.)
- does not replace official communications from the organization in question — always verify directly with the manager before travelling, entering a draw, or making a payment
Other data is calculated by Fluvaro using algorithms:
- Tide predictions — harmonic algorithms (constants derived from historical observations, computed 100% locally)
- Sun and moon data (sunrise, sunset, lunar phases, wildlife activity periods) — standard astronomical algorithms
- Flow derivatives (24-hour variation, trend indicators, displayed forecasts) — computed from raw CEHQ data
Fluvaro does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability of the data. Data is provided for informational purposes only. Do not rely solely on this data for safety-related decisions. Always consult official sources and use your own judgment.
Under no circumstances shall Fluvaro be held liable for any action taken, decision made, or damage suffered by a user who has relied, in whole or in part, on the data displayed in the application or on the website. Use of this data is entirely at the user's own risk.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activity conducted under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
Referral program
Each account has a personal QR code and shareable link that lets other people sign up while attributing the referral to you. By using it, you accept that:
- You may not refer yourself.
- A new signup can be attributed to a single referrer (the first valid one).
- Fluvaro may invalidate an attribution in case of clear abuse (fake accounts, automated use, purchase or trade of referrals).
- No monetary or material benefit is currently tied to referrals. If a reward program is introduced later, its specific terms (eligibility, amount, duration) will be published in separate terms communicated before they take effect.
4. Subscriptions, Trial, and Billing
Plans
Fluvaro offers monthly and annual Pro subscription plans via Stripe. Current prices are displayed on the application's pricing page. By subscribing, you authorize recurring billing based on your chosen plan.
Free Trial
A free trial of 14 days may be offered to new Pro subscribers. The following conditions apply:
- A valid credit card is required to start the trial (verified by Stripe, not charged during the trial period).
- One trial per user, for life. A user who has already benefited from a trial cannot start a second one, even with a different plan.
- You can cancel at any time during the trial — no amount will be charged and Pro access remains active until the scheduled end date of the trial.
- If you do not cancel before the end of the trial, your card will be automatically charged according to the selected plan, and the subscription becomes active.
- The trial duration may be adjusted occasionally by Fluvaro (promotional campaigns). The exact duration applicable to your trial is displayed at subscription.
Cancellation and Refunds
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account panel.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep Pro access until that date.
- No prorated refund is issued for time already paid.
- Exceptional refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis — contact us at [email protected].
Price Changes at Renewal
We reserve the right to modify the price of a Pro subscription for future renewals. Any price change will be communicated to you at least 30 days before the next renewal date — by email, by in-app notice, or by visible update of these Terms. You have this period to cancel before the new price applies. The price already paid for the current period is never affected retroactively.
5. Intellectual Property
The source code, design, and original content are the property of Fluvaro. Some of the data displayed comes from Quebec public sources (see §2) and remains the property of their respective organizations. The public data mentioned in §2 is used under Creative Commons BY 4.0 licence.
Users may not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of Fluvaro and of its Service without the Owner's express prior written permission, granted either directly or through a legitimate reselling programme.

In no event shall Fluvaro be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service.
7. Protection of Personal Information
The collection, use, retention, and disclosure of your personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
In accordance with Quebec Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector), Fluvaro designates a Person in charge of the protection of personal information responsible for ensuring compliance with this law.
